Viola Bartoli was born in Pesaro in 1993.
After graduating at the Institute of Art F.Mengaroni, and then at the "Perfezionamento di disegno animato" (Advanced course of Animated Drawing and Comics) at the “Scuola del Libro” of Urbino, she attended the Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino to became an illustrator.
She was selected for the VII edition of the BilBolBul Festival in Bologna; received the mention of the jury at Lucca Comics&Games in 2014 for the competition Revolutionary portraits; selected to illustrate the first number or The FLR, a bilingual magazine born in Florence.
She dedicate herself to the making of comics and artist books: in 2018 with the collective Incubo alla balena, she realized A seguire i ghepardi, a book totally made in silkscreen; in 2019 were born the self-productions Macchina gialla, dedicated to the sensation during a moving, and Rosso dal finestrino, little self-bound book about the guilt that grip us after a violent act. Her last work is The Pommeroy, a comic book inspired by a novel from John Cheever, that tells the controversial story of a family who spends summer holidays in a beach house by the Massachusetts’s banks.
