Samuele Canestrari was born in Fano (IT) in 1996 and is a visual artist with a specialization in illustration and animation.
He attended the “Scuola del Libro” in Urbino (IT).
Over the years, he was published in magazines such as Internazionale, Gagarin Orbite Culturali, This Is Not a Love Song, Destroy Brandina, Malamente, 88 Bestie and Progetto Metastasi.
In 2017 he was awarded by Scuola del Libro during the Animavì-International Festival of the Poetic Animation Cinema in Pergola (IT).
In 2017 he actively collaborated on the creation of the magazine CavallinoRivista.
In 2018 he published his first comic book Gli uominicane non hanno la coda through the editorial project Libri Somari he founded with his friend and colleague Ahmed Ben Nessib.
In 2018 he exhibited his drawings within the group exhibition La Linea d’Ombra at Corte Zavattini 31 in Cesena (IT) during the Biennale del Disegno in Rimini (IT).
In 2019 he published Mosto, a collective effort between Libri Somari e MalEdizioni.
In 2019 he realized his first short animated movie: a video clip for the song Caviglie by Jesse the Faccio.
In the same year, he exhibited his drawings at Odeon Gallery in Bologna (IT) and at Tricromia in Rome (IT).
He is currently collaborating with Chrysalid Gallery in Rotterdam (NL).
He lives and works in Modigliana, Italy.
