Film director Luca Magi was born in Urbino, Italy in 1976 and began his career as a illustrator for publishers including Rainbow, Clementoni, Giunti. He directed his first film, Anita, in 2012, followed by another documentary, Stories of the Half-Light, in 2018. He has taught at the Urbino Academy of Arts since 2015 and is currently working on his first narrative feature. His films have received several national and international awards.

Inspired by Federico Fellini’s screenplay A Journey with Anita.
Anita was distributed on DVD in 2015 (Cinemaitaliano.info) and broadcast in 2020 on the Italian independent cinema channel Indiecinema.

Stories of the Half-Sleep was distributed in Italian theaters in 2018 and is due to be will be included in the CG Entertaiment program schedule. It was the subject of a degree thesis, Sound in the Documentary Film, by Simonluca Laitempergher (supervisor Prof. Leilo Camilleri) at GB Martini Conservatory of Music, Bologna.
