Anima, art name of Annamaria Gentili.

She graduated at "Scuola del Libro" high school of art in Urbino, with a specialization in traditional animation.

In 2011 she founded with other fellow artists the collective Incubo alla Balena, with whom she created self-made comics, participated in various festivals and set up exhibitions. In 2014 they won the best fanzine award at TCBF - Treviso.

She collaborated with animator Beatrice Pucci for the animation in the film Tutto parla di te by Alina Marazzi and after that, she worked in a team directed by Simone Massi that drew animation frames for the film Samouni Road by Stefano Savona. The film won "L'Œil d’Or" at the Festival de Cannes in 2018.

Since 2016 she has been founding partner of the Checkpoint Charly cultural association of Bologna with which she organizes workshops and meetings for the promotion of animated cinema.

At the end of 2018, she participated at the artistic residence Creatividad y territory for two months in Ubaque, Colombia.


She works as a freelance illustrator and animator for music videos, short films, commercials, etc.
