Andrea Petrucci was born in Fano in 1986.
He attended the "Scuola del Libro" of Urbino, where in 2005 he graduates. He finished the "Perfezionamento di Disegno Animato" (Advanced course of Animated Drawing and Comics) course in 2007.
During these years he realized two animation short films, Identità (2004) and Campo dell'epoca (2006), obtaining recognition in exhibitions, national and international festivals.
In 2007 he created the animation for the theme of Fano International Film Festival. In the following years he took part in group exhibitions, with drawings and short films, at galleria d406 in Modena (2007), Officina delle Arti in Reggio Emilia (2007), Spazio esposizioni Pescheria in Pesaro (2008), galleria Antonio Colombo in Milan (2010), galleria Tricromia in Rome (2010), galleria HDE in Naples (2010), Salone dell'Editoria sociale in Rome (2011), Orto dell'Abbondanza in Urbino (2012, Illustr@zione. Gli illustratori della Scuola del Libro di Urbino 1930-2010), galleria Ca' Pesaro in Pesaro (2015, Animami).
In September 2009 he realized with Magda Guidi and Sergio Gutierrez an animated feature for the musical drama L'ultima volta che vidi mio padre (directing / Chiara Guidi, music / Scott Gibbons).
In 2010 he contributed to the book Banchi di nebbia with drawings, edited by Orecchio Acerbo.
Since 2011 he has been committed to the realization of a book made up of drawings - a story in pictures – still a work in progress and the artist’s main engaging work nowadays. At the same time, he experimented new expressive solutions, drawing on large format, creating artworks for music albums (Matteo Lucque, Un acquario senza pesci, self-production; Luca Cambrini Angeli, Luminosa, Coward Records), collaborating with magazines, with drawings and graphic novels (Lo Straniero, Gli Asini, directed by Goffredo Fofi; Canicola, Hamelin).
He lives in Fano where he works as a tutor in an educational centre for people with disabilities.
